My name is Aboubacar Mchangama, from a small island located in the Indian ocean called Comoros. I have got the interest of technology burn inside me since my high school days. Beside technology, I am passionate about travelling, discovering new places, music, and football.

As student I have completed a bachelor and master’s degrees in electronics and communication systems In India. Through this, I got the chance to gain a deep background in communication systems especially in wireless communication technologies. In addition to that, I have spent a one-year research in 5G mobile networks at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona.

Currently, as part of the TeamUp5G project, my PhD research focuses on Signal Processing Techniques for Massive MIMO Enabled Millimeter Wave (mmWave) Communication for 5G communication.


Study and propose signal processing techniques for Massive MIMO enabled mmW communication including sparse MIMO channel estimation, energy efficient power control of multiuser massive MIMO, and hybrid analogue/digital precoding strategies that allow a feasible implementation of mmW massive MIMO while ensuring a high spectral efficiency.

Expected Results

After evaluating of the different techniques one efficient scheme will be dedicated to the use of massive MIMO enabled mmWave communication systems for the 5G wireless networks will be validated and an optimized technique that satisfies the identified “performance – processing complexity” trade-offs and represent good candidates for the 5G wireless networks; proof-of-concept of the investigated approaches through prototyping, testing and real-field measurements.
